Guides & FAQs
Every milestone from submitting your app to production access, day by day, with a step-by-step guide for each one.
Google's requirement is 14 days of testing. We add two extra buffer days on top, free, so there is never anything to worry about.
The two things the dashboard needs are your exact package name as shown in Play Console and the closed testing opt-in link. The package name is the one field that cannot be guessed, so copy it from Play Console rather than typing it from memory.
The opt-in link is the shareable URL Play Console generates for the closed track — usually a play.google.com/apps/testing address. It is checked before payment, which is why a link that points at the wrong track, a stale release, or an app that is not yet in closed testing is caught before anyone starts a 14-day window that cannot count.
Worth doing while you are in Play Console anyway: confirm your store listing is complete — description, screenshots, content rating, privacy policy URL — and make sure the build you are testing is the one you intend to ship. Testers report against what they install, so testing a build you are about to replace wastes the window.
Add your app in the dashboard. Our testers opt in and testing starts within 6 hours. You only need two things to start: the exact package name as it appears in Play Console and a live closed testing opt-in link. The link is checked before payment, so a link that points at the wrong track or a stale release is caught before anyone spends a day on a test that cannot count.
5 minutes of your time
Both the Feedback Report and the Production Access Report land in your app's Reports tab by day 10. The Feedback Report covers crashes, layout, and usability across the devices your testers used. The Production Access Report is the one you paste into Google's questionnaire, so each of the ten answers has the specific detail a reviewer wants — not a generic claim.
Nothing to do
Google's 14-day requirement is complete, and this is the day you apply. Answer Google's 10 questions using the Production Access Report we sent you. Do not rush the answers: they are specific by design. Mentioning the device spread, the daily activity, and the actual findings is stronger than saying 'everything is fine'.
5 minutes of your time
Google typically approves within 2 to 5 days and confirms with an email. If it asks for clarification, the report you already have is the answer. Nothing needs to be re-run.
Google's review
Create your production release. Google runs one final review, usually 5 to 7 days, and your app is live on Google Play for everyone. Most apps go from first submit to live in about three weeks. That timeline is the reason the 14 days are padded with two free buffer days — a late opt-in or a slow review never cuts into the requirement itself.
Google's review
Days 0 to 16 are covered here. Google approves production access on its own timeline, usually 2 to 5 days, and the two buffer days are there so that a slow review never eats into your 14 days of testing.
Within 6 hours of your payment. Add your app in the dashboard, send us your Play Console opt-in link, and the first testers begin opting in the same day. Day 0 is the day you submit.
We are happy to help with anything that is not covered here. Most emails get a reply within a few hours.
